One of the unique medical attributes about the facility is the infectious disease isolation ward with non-recirculated ventilation. The clinic is one of the best equipped facilities in Middle Tennessee and has the ability to provide many services that are not available elsewhere.

Dr. Ronald Whitford opened the St. Bethlehem Animal Clinic in 1980. After 23 successful years, the clinic moved to its new state-of-the-art location in August 2003. Shortly after the move, the clinic was featured in the April 2004 issue of Veterinary Forum, which is one of the major publications within the veterinary profession. Dr. Whitford and his wife, Kathryn, along with Lucy, their standard poodle, were in the cover photograph of that issue.
